The following statements are certainly known to you from your production and quality assurance staff:

  • “Our flow meter is inaccurate.”
  • “Our flow meter needs a recalibration.”

But what should be done? How to check the flow meter? How to calibrate it?

GEA Diessel offers you accuracy tests for your volume and mass flow meters for liquids:

Verification and calibration by means of provers (calibration vessels) and master meters on site at your works. For that purpose GEA Diessel can make available:

  1. Stainless steel provers in the following sizes: 5, 10, 20, 25, 50, 100, 200, 500, and 1000 litres
  2. Master meters in the nominal widths from DN15 up to DN150 for flow rates from 1 L/min up to 2000 L/min

Official factory tests of your flow meters on PTB-approved test benches at the GEA Diessel works (PTB = Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt in Brunswick). GEA Diessel is disposing of three officially approved test benches for accuracy tests of volume and mass flow meters and even for preliminary factory tests demanded by the Weights & Measures Authorities. Those test benches are suitable for:

  1. Nominal widths from DN2 up to DN200
  2. Flow rates from 1 L/min (kg/min) up to 2500 L/min (kg/min)
  3. Test quantities from 0.1 L (kg) up to 5000 L (kg)

Delivery of test standards and/or test benches and their installation at your works:
GEA Diessel offers you the design, production, installation, and commissioning of test benches at your works.

All test standards used for calibration tasks refer to the NATIONAL STANDARD of the Federal Republic of Germany with the PTB in Brunswick.

For the execution of the calibration work required (immaterial of the fact whether it will be performed at your works or at the GEA Diessel works in Hildesheim) GEA Diessel will place at your disposal not only the test standards, but also their specialists.
