The continuous in-line blending system for yeast dosing offers the user an easy-to-handle possibility to dose the yeast into the wort line in an exact quantity and with good reproducability.

The brewer selects the desired beer sort (top or bottom fermented beer) via the process controller. He selects the sort either for the following brew or he keeps the current brew. This selection determines how many yeast cells per ml of wort will be added. The number of cells is modified in the parameter level which can be accessed by entering a code.

Special features:

  • Space saving construction, which is integrated into the existing pipework
  • Exact dosing by the use of first-class metering devices
  • High reproducability
  • Easy handling

After start of the wort an adjustable delay time passes. Afterwards, the valve opens and the pump starts. The quantity pulses given by the electromagnetic flow meter IZM™ (FQI) are multplied by the yeast load (in million cells/ml) which had been calculated in the concentration metering system (Q1). The added yeast load is indicated and compared with the desired yeast adding. As soon as the desired quantity is reached, the valve closes and the pump stops.

The following can be indicated additionally:

  • Flow of yeast in in l/h
  • Yeast load in million cells/ml
  • Added quantity of yeast in l (brew)
  • Added quantity of yeast in l (total)
  • Yeast load in million cells

It is possible to switch the pump over to volumetric dosing. The valve and the pump are activated during cleaning as long as the corresponding control signal is active.
