Filtration for sterility and product recovery

Filtration is a common process in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. It is used widely to sterilize process gases and liquids by mechanical separation and to separate product downstream using ultra-, dia- or nano-filtration. Wherever and however they are used, filtration systems need to be easy to clean and capable of sterile operation. All our systems are designed to make sure that contamination is kept out and your product is as pure as it can be.

We have the expertise to integrate filtration lines into your plant and to provide the necessary automation, qualification and documentation to meet your specific needs. Filtration systems can be integrated as required into a variety of operations including: pre-filtration and sterile filtration, automatic test benches with integrated CIP and SIP, integrity test inline, solvent exchange by dia-filtration, or product recovery by nano-filtration.

Cell disruption

Product accumulators within cells that must be distrupted to release their contents. There are a variety of techniques available to achieve this including Niro Soavi homogenizers and other disruption devices. We use our experience to select the correct equipment and set the necessary process parameters to provide you with your desired outcome.

Safe separation

After fermentation, separation using centrifuges forms a vital part of downstream processing for cell separation, product recovery and debris removal. Our experienced engineering staff will work with you to select the correct centrifuge type in cooperation with Westfalia Separator for each application and will use their skill to integrate the separation system seamlessly into the existing plant.
