The right solution – drop by drop
Syrup and suspensions are not as a rule manufactured under sterile conditions, as syrup and suspension products are considered to be semi-sterile preparations. Despite this, similarly strict standards apply to the process plant as in the case of sterile processes, in order to minimise the germ count in the products. Every detail of the design has to meet the high quality requirements, in order to eliminate the risk of production errors. As with every type of pharmaceutical production, there are a large number of national and international standards and statutory provisions that have to be complied with. The use of high-performance processing equipment will in itself ensure that there are no obstacles to smooth-running production.
For better performance and quality
Whatever it is you want to produce in your process plant – syrups or drop solutions for expectorants, antibiotics or antiasthmatics or for antiallergic, rhinological or ophthalmic preparations, in bottles, in vials or as a coating for tablets – our great diversity of plant modules will perform any task and take account of any requirements or conditions. By using the latest components and valve technology and the latest, state-of-the-art manufacturing concepts for vessels and skids, we ensure that you will be able to use your plant to manufacture your products in a manner that is both economic and kind to the materials.
Essential characteristics are:
- design free of dead-leg areas
- completely suitable for in-line CIP and SIP (cleaning/sterilisation in place)
- sample collection
- filtration using bag or candle filters, also for gases and liquids in particular applications
- diaphragm valve technology
- homogeniser in the circuit or starting vessel storage
Fully automated control
We can offer you a selection of different well-proven system solutions for the control and recording of process data. We will supply the plant with whatever type of operating system you require: starting from manual operation by buttons and switches, and passing through control systems with operator control units or process visualisation, we can go all the way to I&C and/or batch systems capable of controlling several workstations. Process and formula-relevant data can be recorded in a log.
CIP/SIP
An important component of the quality-orientated production of syrup and suspensions is a suitable CIP/SIP system. GEA Diessel uses high-performance satellite CIP/SIP apparatus, consisting of one or more containers with medium heating and a dosing system for concentrated cleaning media. The cleaning is performed in a single stage, with the liquids used being disposed of after the cleaning time. Cleaning media can also, if required, be directed to the satellites from a central station.
