GEA Diessel delivers officially approved metering system for E10 additive
For the production of the new fuel E10 the premium fuel is blended with a proportion of bioethanol, as generally known. For this purpose, considerable amounts of bioethanol are needed in the refineries which is delivered to the refineries by rail tank cars with a capacity of 60 to 90 m3.
GEA Diessel metering systems are designed for the reception of bioethanol out of these rail tank cars. Capacities of up to 250 m3/h can be realized.
Requirements:
The metrological requirements of calibration and control authorities (customs) are met. The measuring systems dispose of the required Type Examination Certificate according to the Measuring Instruments Directive 2004/22/EC and can therefore be used throughout the European economic area.
Technology:
The measurement is effected by means of mass flow meters and an additional highly accurate density measurement. . On the basis of the official OIML International Alcoholometric Tables the GEA Diessel control system type ZEVODAT-flash™ then calculates the data from the sensors so that the volume of pure alcohol - based on 20° C – is displayed and can be processed for accounting purposes.
GEA Diessel delivered such a metering system with 2 redundant measuring sections to PCK Raffinerie GmbH in Schwedt/Germany.
